Semi-finals

Brandy and Maks (Pasodoble) – Did you know “pasodoble” means “double step”?  The dance was really good. I don’t know why but I was a little bored with it.  Everything looked great and technically their moves were awesome!  (Argentine Tango) – I loved this dance.  I thought she danced it perfectly and I loved the clothes!  That might be my favorite dance of the night – well, so far.
Jennifer and Derek (Cha Cha Cha) – Mercy by Duffy is one of my favorite songs.  I thought their dance was so cute and so fun.  Every move was right on and it flowed perfectly!  Bruno’s reaction was the best!  It’s so hard to believe that she was 27 when she was in Dirty Dancing.  She looked so young!  (Waltz) – Second dance was just as good as the first.  So beautiful and just perfect.
Bristol and Mark (Pasodoble) – Bristol’s best dance ever!!!! She looked hot and she danced so well.  There was a couple times where I felt like her counting was a bit off but just barely!  She’s finally coming onto the dance floor and putting everything she’s got into it.  I do think she’s made it as far as she has because of who her mom is, but she’s also working hard to stay in the competition too.  (Waltz) – I was wowed by Bristol this week in both dances.  She really has come a long way.
Kyle and Lacey (Samba) – Kyle has also been getting better but I’m thinking it’ll be him to go this week, it’ll either be him or Bristol and after Bristol’s amazing performance I’m really thinking it’s going to be Kyle to go.  His dance was great, no doubt but one of them has got to go this week.   Kyle, the Bionic Bumm…. More bounce to the ounce.  I can’t believe I heard that out of Len’s mouth.  (Argentine Tango) – I thought the beginning of the dance there was too much of Lacey dancing around him and he was just standing there but then it really picked up and I thought he did really well.  I loved all the dances this week and I’m very excited for the finals next week, although not really excited for my favorite show to end for the season.

I am really glad we got to relive Bruno's rendition of Mercy.  It's so entertaining.
The Stars of Dance dance was so cute! I don't think I've ever seen Derek and Cheryl dance together but it was really cute.  I love that car! I thought it was funny the licence plate said DWTS III, I don't know why III but it was cute.
I didn't realize who Annie Lenox was until she sang that song "Little Bird", I love that song.  way old school.
Ok does anyone else think that the reason Bristol has opened up to Mark a little more because they are hooking up.  What's with the "I love you" "I love you too".  I mean I see pros treat their stars like they are their spouse all the time but "I love you"....
So I'm sure I wasn't alone in my thinking in those last few minutes thinking "oh how sad that Bristol is going home".  I think even Bristol was thinking "how sad, I'm going home".  and then...... Brandy and Maks get announced as going home.  This season was not at all what I thought it was going to be.  The people who keep getting voted off is just so unpredictable.  I think everyone was really surprised by this results show.

Instant Dance week.

Kyle and Lacey (Viennese waltz) – I’m shocked that Kyle has made it this far but he’s done pretty good.  I saw a couple missed steps in the beginning, but other than his feet, he did great.  He’s gotten a lot better with the serious dances.  (Jive) - Good Golly Miss Molly is the song chosen for their instant dance.  Did Kyle wear the same jacket as he did last week for this dance?  It’s very similar.  I don’t think I would have known that they didn’t have their song till tonight except for at the very beginning it seemed like Kyle was going to start moving a little too quick.
Jennifer and Derek (Quick step) – I am sure the she must have had some intense treatment to be able to dance on her injured knee.  She moved so beautifully and every step was just fantastic.  I wouldn’t have even known that she was in so much pain during rehearsals.  (Rumba) - Waiting for a Girl like You is their instant dance song.  They danced so awesome!!!! I couldn’t believe how amazing it was.  They were so into it and it was beautiful!
Kurt and Anna (Waltz) – I think their dance was good.  Kurt is really getting a lot better.  He’s just so lovely.  The judges seem to be pretty pleased with him too.  (Cha Cha Cha) - Hella Good is their instant dance song.  They seem really confused about that song.  That looked a little awkward for him at times but he definitely had fun with it and I give him an “a” for effort.
Bristol and Mark (Argentine Tango) – As far as the argentine tango goes, she did ok.  She’s still gotten so much better each week and it was good, her legs were a little slow is all.  Not as far as step by step but as far as the flicks.  Marks legs swing so fast and then hers seem to have a weight tied to the toe.  (Samba) - Their instant dance song is Mas Que Nada.  Mark couldn’t even say it, so this should be good.  I don’t think it looked good for her that Mark was shaking so much more than her right at that beginning of the dance and then he seemed to have more energy than her through the whole thing.  She took a few steps backward with this dance I think.  She knew the steps but just didn’t have the energy.
Brandy and Maks (Waltz) – The dance was so flowing and beautiful.  I didn’t know Brandy had a daughter.  In fact I was sure she didn’t have kids.  Weird.  (Cha Cha Cha) - They picked Teenage Dream for their instant dance.  The dance was really great, not as great at Derek and Jennifer’s but it was pretty amazing too! I did love the booty shakes. I think Carrie Ann made a great point about them wasting so much time waiting for the music to start.  Maks definitely dislikes being told there is something wrong with his choreography.  He did not take that well at all.  Much like when I tell my husband I’m going to call Dell for help with my laptop…..

Dancecenter is so funny!
The live performances were good.
Children are so cute.  Dancing children, even cuter.  A piano playing, child prodigy is like a little piece of heaven! 10 years from now those kids could be pros on the show!
When John Legend was singing Ordinary People, the girl dancing with Mark is Jeanene from So You Think You Can Dance a few years ago.  I hope they bring her on the show! Why not?  Chelsea and Lacey were both on SYTYCD.
I don't think I'm really surprised that Kurt got voted off, but I would have rather he didn't.  I like him! It's going to be really interesting to see who makes it into the finals.  I'm thinking either Bristol or Kyle will be going home next week but the way this season has gone, anything could happen.

200th Episode!

I am trying to edit pictures while I’m watching this week’s episode so I may not be able to write much about what I’m seeing.  I might just do random thoughts this week.
When I was watching the team dances I definitely liked Kristi’s team better.  The solos were better and it was more entertaining, but still both teams were very good!  Jennifer Gray didn’t do very well, she was moving kind of slow.  I fear she is getting worn out and Brandy is passing her up.  Sadly, her age may lose her the trophy.
Kyle and Lacey – (Mel B and Maks, Paso Doble)  I laughed out loud for sure when Kyle showed up with dressed like Maks, abs and all.  Kyle is definitely a funny kid.  The dance was so good, and really I didn’t expect him to make it this far but really, he does get better and better each week.
Kurt and Anna - (Emmit and Cheryl , Tango)  I think Kurt has hit a plateau with his dancing, I haven’t really seen any improvement with his dancing in the last few weeks.  I liked the dance but it’s beginning to look like he’s not going to make it much longer.  The judges said it looked a lot better, but I just didn’t see it and I’m pretty biased.
Bristol and Mark - (Kelly and Louis, Viennese Waltz)  Kelly Osbourne is looking so beautiful!  Bristol seems to be getting a little more comfortable with Mark.  The dance was so pretty, and she did alright, but I felt like she could do better.
Rick and Cheryl - (Helio and Juliane, Quick Step)  So Helio got called “Banana Man” for dressing in a yellow suit, is Len going to call Rick “Pickle Man” for dressing in a green suit?  Their dance was entertaining, but I didn’t think he was doing all the steps right in some parts, but it might have just been the camera angle, since the judges didn’t say anything about it.  They opted for calling him the Jolly Green Giant, which is very fitting considering Rick’s size.
Brandy and Maks - (Gilles and Cheryl, Fox Trot)  I liked Brandy’s dress a lot more than Cheryl’s in this dance.  Their dance was flawless!  She is really getting better and better and that dance was so good!
Jennifer and Derek - (Drew and Cheryl, Tango)  She did so much better this week than last week and even after seeing her dance the team dance at the beginning of the show she still did much better with the tango.  Her feet were perfect.  I was scared for her to begin with, that she wasn’t going to do that dance justice because Drew and Cheryl got a perfect score on it, but they did really good.

Rock week.

I really do miss Julianne Hough, I hope she comes back, but I think she’s becoming too big of a star for that.  It’s no surprise that so many of the favorite dances are ones that she put together.
Nicole and Derek’s 50’s paso is my favorite dance ever.  I love that dance every time I see it, and I’ve seen it a few times.  I confess that I just searched the dance in youtube and then shared it on facebook.
Audrina and Tony – Audrina is so good but so boring.  I just don’t feel entertained when I watch her dance.  I just hope that the song they danced to wasn’t a subconscious foretelling of their very close future…. Another one bites the dust….
Kyle and Lacey – The dance was fine.  Maybe his best dance so far.  I am just sick of seeing him try to plan a kiss on Lacey at the end of every dance, it always looks awkward, like it’s not planed, so he ends up putting his mouth somewhere weird and it looks stupid.  He’s just to immature to just dance with Lacey without being a teenager.
Jennifer and Derek – I think Derek is so great at choreographing the Paso, this one was awesome too.  I loved the intensity and Jennifer looked so great also.  They only seemed to lose it a little at the end, when She stumbled on the turn and Derek a little too.  Carrie Ann started out the judging very harshly, telling her to calm down, but I thought it was very fitting for rock week.  I kind of thought it should be a little more harsh and strong because of the theme.
Rick and Cheryl – I think he looked too much like he was concentrating on the dance, rather than looking intense.  Other than his face, I thought the dance was great.  He did a good job at keeping his posture, even though Cheryl is so much shorter than him.
Oh that’s very nice to see Martha Stewart in the audience.  When are we going to see her dancing on the show?
Bristol and Mark – Oh wow, what a way to redeem herself from last week’s nightmare.  I was really surprised to see that she kept her face straight for the most part through the whole dance.  One of my issues with Bristol has been that silly grin she always has on her face and it only peaked out right after her air guitar and in that, I’ll give her that one, it did look pretty good.  This was definitely her best dance and I am so happy to see her trying now.
Kurt and Anna – I laughed so hard when Kurt came out dressed like Brett Michaels.  The dance was good, but he looked really tired through the whole thing.  I don’t know if he really looked like Jackie Chan but it wasn’t great.
Brandy and Maks – Brandy has definitely gotten a lot better, the dance was intense and it was fun.  There was a small mistake at one point but barely noticeable.
Rock and Roll Dance Marathon
First couple out is Kurt and Anna.  Bristol and Mark our out next.  The worm just wasn’t a big crowd pleaser, or judge pleaser.  Rick and Cheryl left next then Kyle and Lacey (lasting longer than I expected).   Out of the 3 couples left, the next ones to go is Audrina and Tony.  Leaving Brandy and Maks and Jennifer and Derek.  No surprise there.   Brandy and Maks won the marathon, even after dancing last in the night.  They could have been so tired they wouldn’t have made it through the first 30 seconds, but they did great.  I thought Jennifer and Derek were better, but the judges know what they are doing.

Oh man, I've always loved Barracuda.  That song is one of the greatest songs of all time.  The dance was great too, but if I did see some sloppy stuff in there too, which is surprising, since they were all pros.
The School of Rock performance was pretty great.
I used to really like Kylie Minogue and that song was okay, but I really think men should dance like men, and the dancing on that was not entertaining for me.
I do like how this results show they have showed us a little of what each of the couples were saying right before they started to dance. That's kind of fun.  I always wonder what they are thinking behind the scenes, and that's always cool to see the confessional and see what their reaction is after they've gotten their scores and stuff, I think it is a glimpse of who they really are, even more so than when they show us what happened during rehearsals in the week before the dance.
At first when the 3 couples were standing there, in jeopardy, I was thinking it would be Kyle and Lacey going home, but then when the said Kyle and Lacey were safe it was obvious that Audrina and Tony were going home.  No way would Jennifer and Derek get voted off this soon.  Audrina couldn't really get any better.  Her performances have been pretty consistent so I guess I wasn't really surprised, although last week I didn't call this one.  So now maybe next week it will either be Kyle or Bristol that goes home.  We'll just have to see, anything could happen. Especially now that Bristol is giving it all in her performances, if she continues at the pace she has been going, she could very well end up in the finals.  Hard to say now.

TV theme week.

I don’t think I’ve ever seen them spend the first half hour of the show talking about the stars before the dancing even starts.  It was fun to see what the judges have to say but 20 minutes into it I was ready for the dancing to start.
Brandy and Maks (Friends) – Maks looks very young with his face clean shaven.  Brandy was so light on her feet for this dance.  She really flowed.  I loved that dance.  She’s gotten so much better the last couple weeks, I am beginning to think she may end up winning this season instead of my personal favorite, Jennifer Gray.
Florence and Corky (The Brady Bunch) – Why am I not surprised that Florence and Corky are dancing to The Brady Bunch theme?    The dance was good, but I’m beginning to look at them as a gimmick rather than serious about the competition, which is sad because she actually seems to be getting a little better each week.  The beginning of the dance was smooth and great but then they started in with the silly movements and made it a joke.   I think I’ve seen Florence kiss more people on this show than any other season.
Kurt and Anna (Bewitched) – I thought there were parts where Kurt’s footwork was great and then times where his steps were too short and they were not in sync and it looked slightly sloppy.  It was very cute though and he’s definitely getting better.  I saw Michael J Fox in the audience! I love Michael J Fox!
Audrina and Tony (The Hill) – They are getting really creative with which TV theme to give to these stars.  I don’t see how eating an onion would make it easier to be intimate with someone.  It seems like it should be the opposite.  It was cool how there was a pool on the dance floor with lights.  It was strange how they started dancing in it though.  I didn’t like the dance/song combination.  The song is so fast for a rumba and it made me feel like they should have been dancing faster.
Kyle and Lacey (Charlie’s Angels) – I’m very thankful they didn’t use the theme song from Cory in the House or That’s So Raven.  Their dance was fun and entertaining.  He always tricks me that way.  I never really pay attention to the actual dancing because I’m entertained.  I thought Len and Bruno were harsh, but because they have to combine the dance they are given with a song that doesn’t really match. I guess it makes the competition more interesting.
Rick and Cheryl (Hill Street Blues) – I like when they went to see Kobe Bryant and they show Cheryl with her head tilted back so she can look then in the eye.  She’s so short anyway, but to be next to basketball players, she really looks short.  Rick did pretty good in the dance, he seemed to move the way they would expect him to for the Rumba and he looked good, not like a huge robot.
Bristol and Mark (The Monkees) – Their time spent on clown lessons should have been spent learning the dance.  I don’t think I’ve seen someone miss that many steps this late in the competition ever.  I thought she got a lot better on loosening up so it was unfortunate that her moves were terrible.  I was shocked that Len liked it so much.  He must really like Sarah Palin.  He usually hates those silly extras.  Bruno and Carrie Ann pointed out the same stuff I saw and described it best.
Jennifer and Derek (Married With Children) – I wasn’t blown away by how good it was like so many of her other dances but I still thought it was great.  Her movements were great and she flowed smoothly.  Have I mentioned I can’t believe she is 50 years old! There is no way!

I think when they said Bristol and Mark no one was more surprised than Bristol and Mark.
With Bruno's dance video and the new "easy steps" I should be a pro on DWTS in no time.
I really hope I wasn't the only one moved to tears by the african family's story and the dance they did with the pro girls was my favorite part of the whole season!!!
I laughed so hard when Shakira and her dancers come out, dancing this super sexy dance with just about the least sexy pants in the world on.  I really thought those ridiculous MC Hammer pants died a long time ago.  I couldn't stop laughing.
Wow moment of the evening number 2: The guest pros.
I think Tony should apologize to Carrie Ann about how he reacted to her pointing out a lift during their dance.  They were showing the replay of it while he was saying that she is just after him and Audrina didn't just lift her foot a little, it was clearly a lift.
I actually watched the results show after seeing on facebook that Florence was voted off so I wasn't surprised but even when I first saw the facebook post I wasn't surprised.  I just think it's just time.  Next week it will probably be either Kyle or Bristol and whichever one of them doesn't go next week will go the next week, then either Rick or Kurt will go next and it's so close with Jennifer and Brandy that either one of them could take the trophy.  So lets see how the next few weeks go, but I've watched this so for so many years and that is usually how it goes.

Double score showdown

Kurt and Anna – Way to go Kurt! I’m so glad he mentioned that it’s strange as a Christian to dance intimately with a woman who is not his wife.  I think Kurt moves his hips pretty great for a football player.  It’s obvious he’s taking this competition seriously and really trying to do a good job.  The performance was great and I loved it, I didn’t really notice a problem with his hands until they showed the replay in slow motion….ok so there might be a problem with his hands.
Brandy and Maks – I love that Maks took Brandy out for a romantic dinner, and I laughed so hard that she called him on how he “introduced” the flowers, candy and wine to her.  The emotion in this dance for them was so much more intense than any other week and I think it might have been their best dance so far.
Rick and Cheryl – The Argentine Tango is my favorite dance.   It seems like Rick’s feet did not move quickly enough or something was missing.  This wasn’t my favorite dance of his.  Low energy but good lifts.  Len described it best.
Kyle and Lacey – I kept trying to look at Kyle’s feet to see how he was doing, and I thought he did pretty good.  Kyle is like the most immature star I’ve ever seen on the show, but he is serious about the work and trying to get better in the competition.
Mike and Karina – I kind of feel like Mike was only moving when he was doing a lift.  I saw very little footwork in that dance.  He was concentrating way too hard on lifts.  Maybe this week it’s just too early for lifts.  Their scores are painful but pretty much exactly right.  It’ll be between him or Florence for getting voted off this week.
Florence and Corky – I laughed really hard at the “appropriate/not appropriate” part of the rehearsals.  I just don’t know how to feel about this dance.  I was trying to focus on the technique so I don’t gag.  Corky is sexy for an old man but there is something about Florence’s plastic surgery face that just makes me want to throw up.  I do think they could have toned it down just a little.  Florence is so stiff for something like Rumba.
Jennifer and Derek – I thought the beginning of their dance was very creative, and I liked it a lot.  Theirs is definitely the best argentine tango of the night.  Jennifer’s legs and footwork are so great.  The dance flowed and looked great the whole way through.  The judges were all big fans of the dance too!  The highest scores of the night and the first 10’s of the season.
Bristol and Mark – I didn’t think I’d ever see her do a dance without that goofy smile on her face.  I saw it start to peek through her serious face a couple times, but she did a pretty good job at keeping it hidden.   Best part of the dance was when Mark lost his shirt…. I wish they wouldn’t have covered up his tattoos though.  They showed a close up of Bristol’s face and it really looked like she was biting her tongue and Mark said she looked hot???
Audrina and Tony – Audrina could end up in the lap of someone on the front row and still wouldn’t get voted off this week.  She’s Jennifer’s biggest competition.  The dance was great and she gets better and better.

I'm pretty sure I never want to hear Jennifer say "dope" ever again.  Scary!
I noticed that Derek and Jennifer changed the beginning of their dance for their encore performance.  It was still awesome! They did awesome.
I was a big fan of Goo Goo Dolls when I was younger but not really into them now.  I am a big fan of the new stage though.  I don't know why, but I like it!
My favorite part of the results show is where they have some sort of fun skit.  Len is actually very funny for being such an old grump.
I didn't like the group tango, I felt like there was too much going on at the same time.  what's the point of having each couple doing a different dance?  You can only watch one at a time.
Florence and the Machine was painful to listen to, but the dancers were great!  It would be pretty challenging to dance in such a small spot like that.
After hearing Mike's reaction to his scores I was hoping it would be his turn to go.  I think Karina was a bit surprised by it too, she didn't look very happy with him.  When it came down to Florence or Mike, I was thinking "yucky old couple doing the humpty dance or egotistical male who has a name for his abs.  The abs gotta go".  Us ladies will get plenty of abs from Maks and Mark.  I'm glad that it was Mike who got voted off but I am sure that Florence making it through this week is just delaying the inevitable.  She'll probably go next week.

Week 3, Story night.

The costumes this week are very interesting.  Especially Margret Cho’s.
The group pro dance was pretty good, I didn’t recognize a couple of the pros and then I notices one of them lost her skirt early.
Jennifer and Derek – Derek is so funny, his facial expressions make me giggle.  I like how well him and Jen dance together.  There was a part where I thought she made a mistake but I think it was just meant to be part of the story.  After hearing the judges I guess they did mess up, and they showed us the right way, and it looked awesome!
Florence and Corky – Florence was saying during rehearsal week that her husband died 8 years ago and she tears up.  That must be the worst loss someone can go through.  I don’t even want to think about Steve dying ever.  The dance was really good; the kiss at the end was a little crazy and unexpected.  I think other than that there wasn’t really a story.  Maybe Jen and Derek going first ruined my expectations though because they did so well on the story aspect for the night.
Kurt and Anna – he’s just a big tree dancing around. Hahaha.  I’d say he’s not used to small delicate movements.  I love that he had a tea party with his daughters.  The rain at the start of the dance was interesting.  Did they do that with lights or what?  The quality on my laptop kind of sucks so I didn’t really see it clearly.  It was enough of a distraction that I wasn’t really paying attention to the dance.  Ugh, well I didn’t see anything bad about the dance.  He definitely seemed to find his delicate side and moved not at all like a big tree.
Margret and Louis – It’s all about pride. And that must have been where the rainbows came in.  There is so much gay pride in this dance I think I am going to have rainbow colored night mares tonight.  Mostly Margret did great with her hips and legs and I was really surprised at the beginning of the dance at how well she did but then the last half she started to miss her steps and there was parts where she was stopping between dance moves, there just wasn’t a flow.  The story was about having pride.  That’s not a story.  Over doing it, is what that was.
Audrina and tony – This story could potentially be the saddest of the evening.  The story is very real for so many people out there, not the back from the dead part, but the dead soldier part.  Audrina did very well, her dancing is graceful and she did pretty well at keeping her face in it too.  “you walk with your feet and you dance with your heart”.  That’s a great quote from Len.   To go from Gay pride to honoring our military, was a great way to help me forget that last dance.
Bristol and Mark – I cannot imagine Bristol as intense, so this dance should be interesting.   Mark started out the dance with some contemporary and I can’t imagine Len is going to like that.  It only took Bristol about 30 seconds to plant that huge grin on her face again, but she continued to fight it through the dance and she did fairly well.  I didn’t think Bristol’s dance would be part of it but Len said it was all too contemporary for his taste.
Brandy and Maks – I am glad that Brandy addressed how it always looks like she is fighting with Maks, and she really does want to work with him.  This Samba seemed kind of slow but they looked great dancing.  I think this was Brandy’s best dance so far and apparently so did the audience since I think that was the first standing ovation of the night.  I didn’t see anything wrong with how Maks was teaching during rehearsals but I guess he was being naughty and the judges think he is a tough teacher and partner.
Kyle and Lacey – He did kind of look like a big bird during rehearsals.  Even though his technique and musicality was great for the dance, he still looked strange in the dance, but I don’t think it was because he did anything wrong, other than his feet.  It just looked awkward to me.  The judges seemed to like it a lot though.
Mike and Karina – During rehearsals, he was really looking pigeon-toed and I can’t imagine how hard it would be to fix that with no dance back ground and never having a reason to correct in his whole life.  The whole dance Mike has this silly grin on his face, I can’t decide if it’s because he thought he was doing so much better in the dance or if it was because of how Karina looked in her costume.  He danced so much better this week, but still not great.
Rick and Cheryl – He said Cheryl is a 26 year old pipsqueak….really, is she only 26?  The dance started out slow but I guess that’s what sometimes happens with having to tell a story, it picked up pretty quick though and I really liked the different levels, making Cheryl taller than Rick.  His height wasn’t so bad this week, and he didn’t look like he was slouching to look shorter.  I could have done without seeing him with his shirt open though.  Eliza Dusku (his girlfriend) seemed to really love it!
“8” was a very popular number this week.

Results:
Neyo seems to be channeling an early years Michael Jackson for his performance, but I really did like it.  The song, despite being sang by Neyo seemed pretty clean, although I didn't cling to every word so it's hard to say.
I really liked the dance/music from Mark and Maks' brother.  Very entertaining.  Not at all like a dance-off, they were more like dancing together, but it was fun!
Michael Bolton is definitely a better singer than he was dancer.
So glad to see Margret and Louis leaving this week, I wouldn't have minded if it was Florence or Corky either though.

Dancing, week 2

Week two.
Rick and Cheryl – Rick is actually a very funny guy.  At first when the move where his leg went over her head and then she took hold of his leg, I thought they were making a mistake, but actually it was a really cool move.  I am surprised at how well Rick could Jive.  That “tall, heavy guy” did a great job.  He’s almost like the perfect partner for Cheryl because he’s so serious about doing it right and he’s determined and serious.  Cheryl and him seem to be doing great.  There isn’t the chemistry that she had last season with Chad Ochocinco, but this seems to be a better dancing pair.
Florence and Corky – Florence says she doesn’t want to be the comic relief but then within 10 seconds of their dance they are already pulling some silly foot stomp thing.  Corky is a comedic dancer anyway, I don’t really think they’ll get away from that.  Florence did pretty good for the most part but I did she a part where instead of doing actual steps she was just hopping in place.  She is 76 years old and I could only hope that at her age I could dance even that well, plastic surgery can’t make her keep up with a professional dancer and compete with 20 year olds.
Brandy and Maks – I’m surprised that she had a solo with the Jive this early on in the competition.  She seemed very confident but the dance was a little slow.  I don’t think her and Maks get along very well.
Michael and Chelsea – Michael’s face is so dull during the dance.  He looks like he’s concentrating too hard and again very stiff this week.  He seems like he’s in good shape so I don’t know why he can’t move very fast, but he just seems like he’s not even trying to keep up the pace.  Bruno said it was the worst Jive in 11 years.  Harsh.
Audrina and Tony – I think Audrina did a great job at keeping up the pace.  They seemed to get to close to the audience a couple times and I though she was going to kick one of the lights at one point but I didn’t even notice her posture getting bad, which Carrie Ann said was a problem.   I don’t know why tony said he would wax his legs if they didn’t get 3 “8”s and they got a 2 “8”s and a “7” so I guess now he is going to wax his legs.  Next week he’ll be in a skirt.
Jennifer and Derek – Jennifer is in great shape and dances so well, then the very last part of the dance looked like she was going to fall over, just didn’t have the bounce that she had at the beginning.  I don’t think I’ve ever seen anyone take their judges critique lying on the floor.  I guess the judges didn’t she thinks he got slow at the end.   I think the audience was booing because they deserved at least one “9”.
Margret and Louis – Margret has surprisingly great legs.  I liked this dance for her.  Even though she did have a little misstep in the middle and she seemed not very light on her feet for this dance at times, but really it was good.
Kyle and Lacey – I’m suddenly hungry for a burger.  I thought their dance was very fitting for his personality and possibly even my favorite quickstep of the night.  I thought he did great at keeping up the pace, he may be a big guy but he moved great.  It was entertaining enough for me that I didn’t notice the technical problems.
Kurt and Anna – I really liked that dance.  There was one slide thing that Anna did that I kind of thought Carrie Ann would claim was a lift, but she didn’t and it all worked.  Kurt is quickly turning into my favorite star of this season.
Mike and Karina – The situation is bad! He looks so awkward in rehearsals, he doesn’t have a clue.  His performance was a little better but he still looks really uncomfortable.  Karina is guilty of leading and lifting.  If Carrie Ann doesn’t say something about those lifts I’ll be forced to think she is a pod person.  Maybe felt like there was enough other things to critique them on without having to bring up the lifts, like how he’s pigeon toed.
Bristol and Mark – Bristol is such a cutie, but she just doesn’t have a great personality for performing.  She’s got a great smile, just like her mom but she’s just missing something.

The results
Rin Tin Tin would have done better than Michael Bolton on the show.  I'm starting to wonder if Bruno has something against Michael Bolton.  Has Michael Bolton said something against gays or something.  I think Len is a big fan, maybe that's why Bruno is so against him.  I think Bruno might just be trying to bug Len.
I liked that they chose Kyle and Lacey for the encore dance and I loved it just the same but I did notice that Kyle's posture isn't very good.  Not sure if that was just tonight or if it was the same during the competition.
The guest, Janelle Monet, was very strange.  Not one of my favorites for sure.  A great voice wasted on a weird style of music.  Although I'm sure there is a large number of people who do like it.
Why am I not surprised that the funny old lady wants to make out with Len.
How does the press confuse a typical "booing" from the audience over scores and them "booing" over Sarah Palin.  Sometimes I'm just shocked at how stupid things get twisted.  It didn't even cross my mind that they were booing for any other reason and I'm sure that anyone who was watching the show felt the same way, but for all those people who weren't watching the show, there is probably a large number of people who actually believe that garbage.
If Jennifer Grey doesn't win this show, I'll wax my legs.  Oh wait, I guess that's not a big deal.
Of all the celeb rituals that they talked about I was most surprised about Louis need for chocolate cake before the show.
Kind of a strange thing to think of but while I was watching the Macy's stars of dance performance, I was watching the lady in the red dancing and wondering, did her mom put her in dance when she was 3 years old.  How many people told her she couldn't do it.  What did it take in her life to get her to the point where she was the star dancer for a guest performance on DWTS.  All of those people have back grounds, they all have stories.
A lot of people would be mad at me for saying this but I am not a fan of Seal.  I liked him way back in the Kiss by a Rose days but now his voice kind of irritates me.  Is his drummer drumming in his underwear?? Everyone is wearing black pants except him, kind of strange.
For some reason the interview room where each of the couples say there little piece reminds me of the confessional on Real World.
Well for Michael to be going home really isn't a surprise to me.  At first when it was between him or The Situation I thought it could really be either of them but really Michael is so hard to watch, he has no personality while dancing and is kind of hard to watch.  The situation at least looks like he is having a good time, like he wants to be there.

Season 11, week 1.

I’m really excited to see Corky Ballas back!  I really keep hoping that they will put actual big time stars on the show again, but there is a few that have been pretty big in their day.  Brandy was once a very popular singer.  David Hasselhoff and Michael Bolton were big icons 20 years ago.  Jennifer Grey stared in possibly the best movie of all time.  Florence Henderson was the most popular mom on the block. quite a few of the younger DWTS fans probably know who Kyle Massey is.  Not just one but 2 guys for the sports fans out there.  We didn't get a politician but we got a politician's daughter.  A couple of stupid reality show stars that I could have done without.  And then there's MCho.  Seems like a great variety.

Aurdrina Patridge – Not her biggest fan so far.  It’s not that her dancing isn’t great; she seems like she’ll do really well in the competition, I just don’t really like her personality.  I was surprised that they started the dance out with a solo.  They don’t usually do that till later in the competition.   She definitely seems to have the confidence.   It’s good to hear that she’s putting her partying on the back burner while participating in DWTS….
Kurt Warner – I was actually very surprised at how well this guy did.  I don’t follow football much and I had never heard of him.  At first when they were showing the rehearsals I was thinking “how long ago was this guy a football player?” but then he really surprised me at how well he danced.  This is only the first week and he did awesome.  Len of course was hard on him, but hey, it’s only week one and if he’s already doing this good, I’m betting he’ll make it pretty far in the competition.  I hope he doesn’t end up being one of those people whose best dance is the first week and then they can never get any better though.
Kyle Massey – I do not like Lacey as a blonde.  I thought it was funny that she asked him if he was staring at her boobs in rehearsals, when she was wearing a very low cut shirt, bouncing in front of a teenage boy, go figure.  As far as his dance goes, I thought he really did well.  He moved pretty fast and his steps seemed to be great.
Rick Fox – This pair doesn’t seem possible.  I only give this pair a couple weeks before Cheryl is yelling at him to get shorter.  Rick is so tall and it didn’t seem to be a problem during this dance but I just can’t see it continuing to not be a problem.
Margaret Cho – She’s self conscious about looking fat on the dance floor and they were so kind to put her in a super tight costume that allowed her midsection to poke out like a lovely spare tire.  I am not sure if they intended for it to be a comedy skit but the moment the cape got wrapped around her face and didn’t come down when it was supposed to, oh wait – they planned that.  Dumb move.  I thought she was doing alright before that and I don’t like when the comedian adds comedy to a dance where it’s not appropriate.  Maybe if it was a jive or something that is different, but not on a dance where she’s supposed to look elegant… it just didn’t work.  I do agree with her that the cape thing is just silly, it no doubt makes you want to do something silly, but somehow others manage to just not.
Brandy – I don’t have anything bad to say about her dance. I thought it was great and I do expect her to make it pretty far.  She was so pretty too, and she looked classy.  I like this pair a lot.
Bristol Palin – She’s surprisingly shy.  That girl has one facial expression, big grin.  Her performance was more of what I expect in the first week.  It was ok, and she has work to do, but that’s how it should be in week one.  I hope she makes it at least a few weeks and I hope she gets better.
Florence Henderson – There’s another fun old lady to make us laugh.  The big difference between her and Clorris is that Florence actually wants to dance.  It seems like she is trying to get the steps and wants to dance the best she can.  I love that she’s been paired with Corky; I think he’s pretty much the only one who can make these silly old ladies look good.
Michael Bolton – After seeing his terrible posture during rehearsals I thought he was doomed but he did have better posture during the show.  So far he’s not a great dancer but he could definitely get better.
Mike (The situation) Sorrentino – Seems like this experience is a humbling one for him.  I do not like his attitude at all.  I think maybe he could have been better if he would have had a few more days like everyone else.  So far I wouldn’t be surprised if he is the one to go this week.
Jennifer Grey – I’m not at all surprised at how well she did.  This is really the only one on the show who actually has ballroom experience.  Maybe it was just for a movie, but still you know she had to train and that she really did have to learn all the steps and work at it.  I am really excited to see how she does next week and with other styles of dance too.
David Hasselhoff – I think he was channeling Ozzy Osbourne during rehearsals.  There were a lot of parts where he was really off and him and Kym were not in sync, but he did alright for week one.  Len: “it’s never too early to panic”.  Ahhaha.  About Kym…. She was looking a lot like Pam Anderson this week, what’s up with that?  Something that makes me laugh about David Hasselhoff is that he still thinks he’s the same hottie as he was when he was younger, which makes him a little unattractive to me.  At least he recognizes that his body is old.

The results
I hadn’t realized how tiny Corky Ballas was until he was dancing next to Tony and Maks.  I loved that opening dance that the pros did to Santana.
Adam Corolla is not my kind of comedy but a couple of the jokes in his little skit were pretty funny.  Like how the Waltz is from the 16th century and then he shows a picture of Len with a wig.
I didn’t recognize the 2 couples that danced while Daughtry was singing, I must have missed them being announced, but they did great.
India Arie has such a beautiful voice and her combined with Santana was just amazing.  Santana’s music is made to Rumba to, Karina and Louis were beautiful dancing together.  Daughtry and Santana sounded good but I don’t think they should use cameras in the direction that just picks up the light on the stage.  Then I can’t get full quality on my computer so it’s all pixilated and can’t keep up with how quickly things are moving so I pretty much have no idea who was dancing.  That sucked.
I think it’s pretty funny that Jennifer Grey called Cho “divine”, Jennifer, no, you are divine!  Florence would ask if she can touch the situation.  Not surprised at all.  I think it’s pretty funny that they play football and chit chat and stuff.  A lot of times we just see the show and don’t really think about how they hang out with each other during the week and get to know each other.
I am shocked at how hard the pros take being eliminated.  I had no idea they were so nervous.  They play it off well.  It’s not like they can help it.  Some of them are paired with terrible stars, that couldn’t dance to save their life and some of them get Nicole Scherzinger.
While the bottom two are on stage I was thinking it’s has got to be Kyle going home, just based on popularity.  But I was wrong.  I guess all those Disney fans were on the phones last night.  I’m not as sad to see David Hasselhoff go as that Kym won’t be in the competition anymore.  I think she’s so sweet and I just love her accent.  Did all you, readers, know that she is also on Dancing With The Stars in Australia?  She sure is.  She’s pretty fantastic.

The Finals

Erin and Maks Samba.  It was a little slow to start out with.  A lot of booty shaking.  Erin definitely seemed more confident and Maks kept his clothes on so it was pretty good.
Evan and Anna Vienese Waltz.  I was wowed by Evan I think for the first time. That had to be his best dance yet and the chemistry was much better.   I like the little piano action at the end.
Nichole and Derek Rumba.  She is so amazing; this dance was no exception to her amazing dancing.  She said she was just going to let go and feel the dance and it really looked like she was able to do that so well.  The way it ended was pretty awesome too; I don’t know how I could explain it so I hope you watched.
Freestyles
Erin and Maks.  Best combination of lifts and tricks that I have seen in the freestyle ever I think.  I loved their dance.  It was super sexy but tasteful.  Apparently that wasn’t the bed they rehearsed on according to Maks….hm.  Mandy Moore has great choreography.  I have seen a lot of her on So You Think You Can Dance.
Evan and Anna.  Surprisingly I thought Evan looked better and did a better job with the dance that Anna did.  Maybe that’s why she was not Their last lift was pretty awesome though.
Nichole and Derek.   That was not what I expected from them.  It was good but it seemed chaotic and the stumble in the end was unfortunate, it could have been a very cool lift.

My favorite freestyle was Erin and Maks for sure.  I loved Derek and Nichole’s Rumba out of the first set though.  I’m excited to see what they do for their dances tomorrow and who takes the Mirror ball trophy.

Semi-finals.

Erin and Maks – The arch she made at the beginning of the first dance was so perfect.  She’s got such a great figure.  The dance was so elegant.  I loved it.  Bruno had a “premature paddle”, as Tom put it, holding up a “10” while he said “9”.  The second dance was so great! I loved it beginning to end, even with the fall.
Nicole and Derek – The first dance, Nicole’s legs are so amazing and the Argentine Tango is all legs.  Derek was obviously in pain through rehearsals but didn’t show even a little trouble during the dance.  So even though the outfit she was wearing in the second dance was so ridiculous, trying to look like prince takes a lot of work. Hahaha.  It was such a fun dance and I was smiling and laughing through the whole thing.
Chad and Cheryl –I don’t have a lot of comments about the first dance.  Seems like he tried harder to get the dance right, it was better than any of his other dances I think.  The second dance really looked like he was dancing more, I saw more moves that ever I think, but the booty shake was bad.  And his pants are pretty much the same color as his skin so that was weird.  He has soooo many tattoos, I wish I could see them.
Evan and Anna – So it takes a tiny little kid to give Evan a personality, it’s about time they find something to get him smiling.  The first dance was good; they looked like they were having a lot of fun.  In the second dance I thought that Evan’s solo was the best Solo of the night next to Nicole’s.  The way they ended it with some weird kiss or whatever was just weird though.

Decades of dance.

Chad and Cheryl’s Tango.  I’m not so sure they are good enough to stay in the competition but I want them to stay because I love their chemistry.  This dance didn’t seem to have that chemistry as much as the past, same with the rehearsals.  The dance was good, I didn’t see any big mistakes but it didn’t flow very well.
Niecy and Louis’ Viennese Waltz.  Niecy looks so good, and looks like she’s having fun every week.  It’s got to be a ton of work and I can’t imagine going through that much work to make those dances look so good.  Louis makes a great partner for her.  She looks so graceful and I know how hard it is to push the extra weight around and try to look pretty and graceful, it’s not easy.
Erin and Maks’ Argentine Tango.  Erin wouldn’t do a move because she said it looks like she’s humping a fire hydrant.  That was great! Funniest line I’ve heard in a long time.  Her legs are amazing. The jump turned out fantastic!  No wonder she was scared to do it though, jump from the stage to Maks’s shoulder like that, I’d be terrified.  The dance seemed super short to me though.
Evan and Anna’s Waltz.  Evan has to try to be warm this week, not so cold.  The dance was warm and friendly.  He did ok, but and the dance was good but it just didn’t make me go “wow”.
Nicole and Derek’s Foxtrot.  Nicole got really stressed in rehearsals about how well she was doing but it sure didn’t show in the performance.  She is so amazing.  I just love how creative and beautiful their dances are.  Her facial expressions are great too, and I think that’s part of what makes her dances so good.  They did have a lift, which must be allowed because Carrie Ann, the lift police didn’t say a word about it.
The crazy robot/alien dance thing that was done in the middle was pretty much too weird for me.  Just not feeling it.
Chad and Chery’s 60’s Jive.  At some points I was really entertained, and then some of it was a little dull.  Good dance though. Hello 8 pack though.  That’s almost more exciting than Maks dancing with his shirt off.
Niecy and Louis’ 90’s Paso Doble.  Louis looked right in his element.  Definitely not my favorite dance from Niecy though.  I won’t be surprised if this is the week that Niecy goes home.
Erin and Maks 80’s Rumba.  OOOH poor Erin, tall and skinny with her beautiful long arms.  Are you serious? Hm.  I saw some definite wow moments in that dance.  I think it was my favorite of theirs.  Till Erin missed a couple steps in the middle and then lost her shoe.
Evan and Anna’s futuristic Cha Cha.  I think it’s funny how stereotypically the future is somehow so different from now.  Like the ladies are wearing skimpy weird outfits and they move all robotic.  It’s just silly, at one point the 2000’s were portrayed the same way.  I thought the dance was so fun though. I usually don’t like this kind of thing but it was pretty fun.
Nicole and Derek’s 50’s Paso Doble.  Perfect as always.  Couldn’t keep my eyes off them.

Team Madonna vs Team Gaga

Erin and Maks did the Quick Step this week and it was great! I thought the costume shift in the beginning was very cute and didn't at all hurt the performance. Seeing Maks dance around in a pink suit was pretty interesting. I did see Erin mess up a little in the very beginning, looked like she wasn't sure what to do with her hands. Len didn't make any comments about Maks taking off his clothes and in fact he praised them for the dance.
Ochocinco and Cheryl danced the Viennese Waltz. They had Tony come in to help him in rehearsal and somehow related the moves to football. The dance flowed beautifully and his foot work looked perfect. I think he has improved so much. Bruno called him a gentle giant. Carrie Ann said there is nothing sexier than watching a man be "tender". Ok that comment did make me laugh. The dance was great though. Chad is giving Cheryl more gifts. Cheryl is still denying that there is anything going on with them, but judging Chad's expression whenever she says something like that, I'm guessing that's not true. They are so cute together! Have I told you all how much I'd love to see them together? Well I think they should dance together forever.
Nicole and Derek danced the Waltz. She looked just beautiful again this week. Seeing her like that makes it hard to imagine that she's a Pussycat Doll. That dance was fantastic. Carrie Ann said that she is the best dancer they have ever had on the show. I'm not exactly sure what Len was suggesting by her visiting his trailer, but don't think it was to take a look at his tie collection.
Pamela and Damian danced the Waltz. I'm so thankful to see Pam's hair looking beautiful and sleek this week. They danced really well, looks like tying their waist's together during rehearsals did help them.
Nicey and Louis did the Quick Step. Nicey danced so well! She kept up with Louis and looked great. The judges said she did great and looked really good too.
Evan and Anna danced the Argentine Tango. I didn't see much that stood out to me about Evan's choreography. Anna looked amazing though and I may have just not been able to pay any attention to Evan because I couldn't take my eyes off her. They got the first perfect score of the season.
The team Gaga Cha Cha, my favorite couples – Pam and Damian, Nicole and Derek, and Chad and Cheryl. I don't know what the problem was exactly with Pam and Damian's solo, but I think Pam's damn hair was the way. Chad and Cheryl's seemed much shorter than Pam and Damian's. Nicole and Derek looked awesome as always. The way they ended the dance was great. The timing was so good. They were so in sync and looked amazing, much better than the beginning.

The team Madonna Cha Cha – Anna and Evan, Erin and Maks, and Niecy and Louis. It looked like they did more messing around than rehearsing. In practice Evan looked terrible; his solo was ok, but not great. Niecy looked like she was having a great time in their solo but she kept messing up. Erin and Maks was my favorite solo. The way they ended was good too but not as strong as Team Gaga. Go Niecy for rocking the dirty girl corset and tights though.

Another week of dancing.

Jake and Chelsie - Samba. The beginning seemed a bit slow. Jake looked pretty awkward and tripped over the steps next to the judges at one point but kept a good attitude and looked like he was having fun. I wasn't a big fan of that dance and even Mrs. Bachelor looked a bit disappointed when the camera showed her as the dance ended. Len mentioned that he lacked rhythm, which is pretty much what Bruno said when he mentioned that there was no bounce. I think that's why I was thinking he looked a little awkward. It's almost like Chelsie was trying to lift him with each step to make an appearance of bounce. [21 points]
Evan and Anna – Samba. Evan cracked his head while doing a flip and ended up with a mild concussion but ended up being fine and came out booty shaking just fine. The goofy smile on his face through the dance could not have been gayer. I don't think I've seen him have more fun in any of the other dances, so that's good. All in all he did really well. The criticism he got was more about technique, things that I didn't really notice. Some things looked a little odd, but I didn't know what it was until the judges started pointing it out. I thought it looked good, but Len even said it was his worst dance. [21 points]
Niecy and Louis – Argentine Tango. They decided to make their Tango humorous. No one has ever done that before and I loved it right from the beginning when Niecy ate a rose petal. Again, I was impressed with Louis' ability to make Niecy look like she weighs 100 lbs! Carrie Ann pointed out that the dance was great because Niecy was dancing. Len surprisingly loved the comedy and said that it didn't interfere with the dance at all. If anyone was going to have a problem with it, it would have been him and he loved it! I am beginning to see these guys in the finals. [21 points]
Erin and Maks – Samba. Erin is a self-professed over thinker. Maks wants her to just enjoy dancing without thinking so much. I hated Maks' shirt (good thing he got rid of it before the dance was over). Erin's feet looked really good and she looked like she was doing it right. Maks did not take Len's criticism very well and interrupted to get a crowd reaction. Len was the only judge who didn't like it, Carrie Ann even did a little dance to interpret the song she made up on the spot "you nailed it, you nailed it". Even though Erin's dress was obnoxious her hair and makeup looked so pretty this week. [25 points]
Ochocinco and Cheryl – Argentine Tango. The football players are always so entertaining. He is most entertaining in rehearsals. They definitely took advantage of their free lifts. I think I saw about 4 lifts and they all looked great. The dance was so good I really couldn't take my eyes off them. The judges loved it too and complimented him on his lines and his all over performance. Cheryl is a good teacher, she may be tough but she gets through. They got their highest score yet, but I'm surprised it wasn't even higher. [24 points]
Nicole and Derek – Samba. Nicole really wants to do the Salsa. Nicole naturally looks really good dancing but her face in the beginning was all nerves. The dance was great though after she loosened up. Carrie Ann and Bruno loved the dance but Len was very disappointed and made comments about them being too sexy and sloppy. Nicole is so good at taking criticism though, she genuinely looks like she's taking it everything in, and considering how she can be better. [27 points]
Pam and Damian – Argentine Tango. Pam's wig was so terrible. I really wish they'd quit making her hair look like a bird's nest. The Argentine Tango is already kind of jerky, but she seemed to not have the right kind of jerking. I might have liked it better if I wasn't so distracted by the big ratty wig sitting on top of her head. Pam's quick stop to give Donny Osmond a kiss was something I would have liked to have seen. [22 points]
The Swing Dance marathon is all 7 couples on stage at once, doing flips and lifts. A recipe for disaster. First out was Jake and Chelsie. Next Niecy and Louis get dropped, probably because of the lame laying on the floor move. Evan and Anna are the next to go. Chad and Cheryl are fourth but as I was watching I couldn't believe that Pam and Damian were still there, every step they showed were terrible and sure enough, the next to go. Erin and Maks were the last eliminated, leaving only Nicole and Derek!

Movie Week DWTS

Niecy and Louie did the Jive and even though I thought it was a little slow in the beginning, it seemed to pick up pretty good and Niecy did a great job. She’s a little heavy so it still wasn’t the best Jive but I liked it. Best judge comment: “there was a bounce in your bazookas”. Carrie Ann called her the “Shimmy Queen”, never having anyone shimmy quite like that.

Cheryl and Ochocinco are a very cute and he deals with her tough teaching the best I’ve seen anyone do with her. Probably because he’s a football player, he’s used to having a tough coach. I don’t know what it is, but it works. I thought his foot work was great, but his arms were a little sloppy. The judges pretty much said the same. What I thought was funny was when Carrie Ann made a comment about body contact, Ochocinco said they have plenty of body contact. Hmmmm. Although then while waiting for scores he said that their relationship is strictly professional – cue weird look from Cheryl.

Maks and Erin seemed to be at each other’s throats in rehearsals but I think this week was her best dance so far. Erin didn’t look very happy about it when it was over but the judges said some good things.

Jake and Chelsie did a half naked Cha Cha. The dance was terrible. He missed steps all over the place, but he tried his best. It was a fun and exciting dance, his personality is great but the steps are a challenge for him. Brooke said he deserved to be scored on bravery. I think he was the first guy to ever dance in his underwear on the stage.

Pamela’s dress was so cute. The dance was good too, but I think I might have missed a lot of it being distracted by the dress. They did do a great move where they danced up onto a chair, to the table down onto the other chair and kept going. That was pretty cool. The judges seemed to like it, except Len who seemed irritated with how much time they spent with props when they should have been dancing.

Kate is so rude to Tony. He’s the pro, yet she criticizes his choreography. She pretty much looked scared and confused through most of the dance. I feel like she’s always going slower than the beat of the music, does Tony have to do that for her because she can’t get the steps otherwise? The dance was bad. Hard to watch. She said she had fun, her face said otherwise. According to Bruno, Tony would have had more fun with a coat hanger.

Nicole got to go on a shopping spree to get ready for her dance. That’s a great rehearsal, If you ask me. It must have worked because I thought her dance was great. The dance was full of great moves, kicks, and attitude. They even got a standing ovation. Bruno was so excited about it that he shook Len. I’m really surprised they didn’t get a perfect score, but they were only one point shy of getting a perfect score so that’s pretty great!

Evan and Anna didn’t get much practice in this week but he still did pretty well. I didn’t see as much movie as the others but the dance was still good.

DWTS Double score showdown

This week they are getting 2 different scores, one for technique and one for performance.
First up are Erin and Maks. Erin had an injury in the week but was ready to take on the Tango. I didn’t think Len would be too thrilled about her using him as a prop, but it was just the opposite. I wasn’t a big fan of this dance but I couldn’t decide if it’s because of the dance or because they are doing the Tango to Sweet Dreams with her wearing a yucky red dress. Technical score of 18 and Performance score of 21.
I don’t know why but it always bugs me if the dancers sing along with the music while they dance. Anna and Evan did an upbeat Tango that was pretty good. I think Evan is still struggling with his feet but it seemed to be an improvement from last week. The judges agree that he’s improved from last week. Technical score of 26 and Performance score of 26. Looks like the judges liked that dance quite a bit! I’ll be curious to see how Evan keeps improving over the weeks.
Oh I forgot that Kym Johnson was missing from this season. I love her bubbly personality. It’s nice that they still bring pros on to do dances even when they are not paired with a star for the season.
Niecy and Louis are the first to do the rumba. They are dedicating the dance to Niecy’s brother who died 17 years ago. They had to practice while she was the set of Clean House so I’m sure it was hard to get it all down with so much else going on. I love how Louis makes Niecy look like she’s just as small as one of the other ladies. Niecy is getting better each week as well and I still would love to see her make it to finals. Len mentions that her arms look good which I noticed as well but he also says it was boring which I disagree. The judges think she was missing hip action. Technical score of 18 and Performance score of 18.
Aiden and Edyta win for the hottest couple. It’s funny that he’s shy about being sexy in front of people. He did a little better with his facial expression this week, he acted a bit happier to be there. Len pointed out something that I saw, which was that the steps didn’t have any flow; it was just one step after the other and kind of robot. Technical score of 15 and Performance score of 18.
Derek and Nicole are such goof balls. I don’t know how they get anything done in rehearsals. They did this great move where Nicole twisted in Derek’s arm that was pretty awesome. The dance in a whole was very beautiful and I didn’t see any of the mistakes that the judges did. They said that she was nervous and she agreed but they could’ve fooled me. Technical score of 25 and Performance score of 25.
I love that Chelsie tells Jake to give her 10 pushups because he said “I can’t do it”. Way to be a tough partner. The “wow” factor from them came when they took their dance steps up the stairs and then back down again and it was great! Jake was determined to do this Tango and his performance was great but he did have a couple missteps. Technical score of 19 and Performance score of 19.
I can’t imagine Kate getting any worse, she called this the “do or die week” which I think is right on. She could very well go home this week. The dance was an improvement from last week and the way they ended it was great, even though they broke the rules with a lift. Bruno even called it a “mini breakthrough” but still “the technique was very bad”. She looked like she has a good time with this dance and didn’t look quite as scared. Technical score of 14 and Performance score of 18. I think that’s their best score so far.
Chad and Cheryl had a great rehearsal week but she seemed harder on him that before if that’s possible. He does have great hip action and this dance was very good, Carrie Ann even said it was the best so far. Ochocinco was hot hot hot this week!!! I can’t decide if the ring is joke or not and if it’s not a joke then wow! And why is it on her left hand? Maybe I’m getting my wish. Technical score of 21 and Performance score of 23.
Pam tried harder this week it seemed like. I didn’t think the sexy look she gave him at the beginning was all that sexy but hey that’s just me. The dance was good, even great. Len called her “overdressed” ugh. He’s acting like a dirty old man this week. Technical score of 23 and Performance score of 24.

DWTS week 3

Oh wow, I just love Anna and Evan! Anna has such a classy look this week and Evan danced great too. I can’t really see them winning the competition but I wouldn’t be surprised at all if Evan and Anna end up in the finals.
Buzz and Ashley did so great in their storytelling this week. It was great to watch even if Buzz can’t dance. He’s old, how much do we expect from him. He’s adorable anyway. It’s like watching my grandpa dance and gives me a nostalgic feel. Jake and Chelsie’s jive was cute but I had a hard time not looking at Chelsie’s terrible wig. Jake is really surprising me at how well he’s doing. He’s another I expect to see in the finals. It’s pretty good that he’s done so great since his “star” status only comes from being The Bachelor and his day job is a pilot. Unless he’s doing line dancing up and down the aisles of the aircraft he flies, I really doubt he’s had much dance experience. Oh I so badly would love to see Niecy win this thing, just because she is such a joy to watch. I have never been a fan of Reno 911 but I’ve seen her on Clean House and I just love her personality. She’s normally so funny and not very serious at all but during the rehearsals she got emotional about the thought of not being able to be with her boyfriend if the law prohibited it, trying to put herself into character since their story was about a black woman and black man in a time when that was against the culture. I’m pretty sure Louis was relating the story to the fact that gay marriage is illegal by saying “I hear you, I’m still in that boat” after Niecy said she could not imagine not being able to be with someone you love because the law wouldn’t allow it or society wouldn’t allow it. Ok, first – not the same thing as a black woman not being able to be with a white man. But I’ll leave it at that. Also they had a lift, I saw it but Carrie Ann recognized that she stumbled trying to keep her feet on the ground, so she didn’t take a point off for that when it was obvious she’d already be docked for the stumble. Ochocinco is such a flirt. I love how cute him Cheryl are together. Is Cheryl married? If not they should have a love connection after the show is over…hm… It’s also a good thing that Ochocinco is nice to look at because he moves like a very tall lanky wooden log on the dance floor. His feet are slow but he’s getting better. It seems pretty common for the football players to do pretty well in the dance competition; maybe it’s something about them having to have good footwork for the game too. I love how Ochocinco is mouthing “call me” while Brooke is telling people to call in and vote. He had to keep up that flirty persona. PETA activist Pamela couldn’t dance the Paso Doble without throwing out there how she was against bull fighting. Pam, it’s just a dance. She actually looked great this week, moved well and thankfully left behind the over sexed vixen look. She’s dug herself out of the hole she was in I think and I am glad she did much better this week. Aiden and Edyta are doing quickstep which seems to me like the hardest dance because the moves are very fast and they have to practice it over and over, he even mentions that every time they practice the steps they have to do it at the same pace and it’s very tiring. It was nice that they show his family come in and have cake with him for his birthday and give him a break. Within the first 20 seconds of the dance Aiden was already looking really bad, his steps were completely out of sync with Edyta and it was a little hard to watch. The judges didn’t really mention it but I don’t know how they didn’t see it, they just mentioned that he has improved. Did I forget how terrible his dance was last week? Maksim looks a lot like Gerard Butler in PS I Love You these days. Not necessarily a bad thing. The waltz was great and I can’t believe she Erin was able to dance blind folded. She had to put a lot of trust in Maks. Len was kind of hard on them and the host came back at him by saying “apparently you weren’t the only one blindfolded” to Len. Kate is getting even with the paparazzi in the Paso Doble….fighting back by being terrible, making it harder for them to look directly at her. I can’t even go into detail about how I feel about it. Carrie Ann said that was “very strange” hahaha. Strange is the nice way to put it. I can’t believe people “booed” the 5’s the judges gave her. I would’ve given her a 3. I’m still standing by my thought that Nicole is going to win this thing. Her dance was great and Derek is the perfect dance partner for her. Len was terrible to her, saying that she didn’t do a quickstep. They got pretty much the same comments from Bruno and Carrie Ann, although Carrie Ann did say that when they take that show on the road she wants front row seats. I was surprised to see that they got a 9 from Bruno after he criticized them for breaking hold and not really doing a quick step. Some pros I’m missing this year are Karina Smirnoff, lacey Schwimmer and Julianne Hough. Please DWTS, bring them back next year!

Dancing With The Stars Week 2

Dancing with the stars is my favorite show. I look forward to it for months. This season’s line up:
Erin Andrews
Evan Lysacek
Jake Pavelka
Kate Gosselin
Nicole Scherzinger
Niecy Nash
Pamela Anderson
Shannen Doherty
Aiden Turner
Buzz Aldrin
Chad Ochocinco Niecy Nash was my favorite! I thought she moved great for a big girl and she’s got a great attitude. Nicole Scherzinger is going to win this thing! This isn’t so much a dance competition as it is just a showcase of one awesome dancers quest to the mirror ball trophy. I’ve always rooted for Pam in the past, giving her more credit than due. She’s just gross on the show this season. Kate Gosselin, “I don’t get it”. This is funny because she’s keeps running men off and still doesn’t see her part in it. Maybe it’s that she’s a complete pain in the ass and insists that since she’s not learning, it’s her teachers fault. Then her jive….as my friend Eric put it “watching Kate dance is like watching Weekend at Bernie's”. Did she really compare having a dance partner with a marriage? I guess she’s right in a sense, her marriage was a failure and so is her dancing. I’m really surprised that she got a better score than Buzz Aldrin. Cheryl and Ochocinco are way cute together, definitely doing well in the chemistry area. Seems like each year the football players do pretty well, I thought he was doing pretty good but Len didn’t think so, he said “it was like the snow, your just glad when it’s all over!”
